I think it's official that I am the worst blogger ever! I do however, vow to do better! I want to post a lot more often now! I have tons of opinions and what a great way to share them! So I'm revamping the blog and changing it up! Stay tuned for more fantastic things coming! To keep you in the loop here are a few fantastic things that happened while I was ummm...away...for...awhile. Haha

I met my idol Susan Egan! She's done music, film, TV, animation, and my favorite THEATER! She was the original Tony nominated Belle in Beauty and the Beast on Broadway as well as Sally in Cabaret and Millie in Thoroughly Modern Millie both also both on Broadway! I met her after watching her fantastic concert with two other broadway women who had played in Phantom of the Opera. Both as Christine I believe. She was so kind and gracious and I got a pic with her! LOVE! She also has a new music video "Nina Doesn't Care" Go check it out on Youtube on Sus's channel!

I participated in Shakespeare Festival doing a monologue in the ensemble scene that won first place!

I played Agatha in "Guys and Dolls"

I went to Sadies for Halloween with Wesley as Esmeralda and the Hunchback

I wrote and directed a one act for the Starving Actors Showcase!

I went to Preference with Taft . Doubling with Jared and Xan.

I was Fantine's nurse and in the ensemble in "Les Miserables"

My mom moved back to Utah and got to see me in "Les Miserables!"

I performed in Senior Showcase including my own senior number "Mamma Mia" Which was so much fun! Can't thank Xan enough for inspiring that!

I GRADUATED!!!!!

I played Mother Goose at the Princess Festival

I became a "Friends addict!

I've job looked/college looked and am currently working at the Princess Festival playing the hobbyduke Gillyflower in the Provo mall while their Christmas show runs! I'll definitely post more on that soon!

That just about wraps up the last little bit of all the amazingly fun things I've done since I last posted! I'm hoping to start another job after I finish out the season at Princess Festival and I'll hopefully start school soon! Like I said updates updates updates are coming soon! Wow it's been awhile! I have tons of pics I need to post but all of my camera pics are on the other computer :( Anyway I am so sorry I have miserably failed at blogging. I hope you can all forgive me. I got super busy! I had a horrible cold that put me down flat in bed for a few days and this past weekend I got an infection in one of my teeth and spent the long weekend on antibiotics. (Don't ask me what I did over the weekend I seriously can't remember.) I also used a large portion of a box of bandaids bandaging my toe in which I ripped the whole nail off on the stairs at school. We've also started rehearsal for Guys and Dolls! I play the part of Agatha, the mission band leader! We have also jumped into rehearsals for Shakespeare! I have a scene that is not going to competition from Merry Wives of Windsor in which I play Mistress Ford. I am also happy to announce that I have a monologue in the ensemble scene that is going to competition! I am so excited! Add homework to that and life = Crazy!
I really want to set a goal to do better at journal writing. My memory stinks so we'll see how that goes. I want to do a thankful journal where you write one thing you're thankful for each day(or 5) as well as an accomplishment journal. In my adult roles class we talked about self esteem and one of the ways to build your self esteem is an accomplishment journal. Every day you have to write down five things that you've accomplished. Even if it's as simple as "I took a shower today" At the end you have a book of all of the many things you've accomplished and every time you put yourself down you can look at the book and see all you've accomplished! Plus I need to keep a regular journal. Maybe I've overestimated myself. What do you guys think?

Okay so I wanted to give a couple quick updates before life gets crazy. First I just found out that my new cousin on the way (Due in Dec.) is a BOY! I am sooo excited!!! You know what else is exciting? My mom flies in on Saturday!! I can't wait! Her and I are going to see my IDOL Susan Egan in concert with the Utah Symphony AND we get to MEET her afterwards! I cannot believe it!! I am so psyched!! Then off to Bear Lake for a family reunion! So if my blogging fails for a few days thats why! Love you all! ~Laurissa

Kids Say the Darndest Things

When I was at work last week I was walking the kids home from the park. Naturally they had to stop and look at every bush and tree and drain and gutter along the way. About halfway home a lady and her son started walking behind us. The kids were going so slow that I turned around and apologized to the lady. One of the boys I watch named Jack (almost 5) turned to me and loudly said "We are NOT supposed to talk to strangers." I threw an apologetic glance at the lady and told Jack "She's not a stranger it's okay." Jack looked at me and loudly said "WE DON'T KNOW HER SHE'S A STRANGER and we are NOT supposed to talk to strangers." At that point I was mortified but giggling slightly. I pulleld the kids to the side and let the lady go past. Then I laughed harder. Kids only take the rules seriously at a time like that don't they?

I have a job right now as a nanny/housekeeper/babysitter for a lady in my ward. Although at the moment it's more of a nanny job. I work 7-8 hours a week three days a week and I am making $10 an hour so it's a pretty amazing deal! It was the cutest thing today. I was walking upstairs with the baby Gideon after his nap and I looked at him and said "You are so handsome!" He looked at me and said "Yes. I AM handsome!" It was so cute and sweet! What a great job!

Okay....so for those of you who don't know (and why wouldn't you know?) This is Kent Boyd! (cue screaming girls). He is a contestant on the fox tv hit series So You Think You Can Dance. I fully plan on marrying him some day! I love this kid to death! Call and vote for him becuase he is amazing and funny and I just love him! And he's MINE! No funny business! haha

The full length pic of a costume from Little women (In pic posts below backstage) is more than you think. Under that dress is an undershirt, bloomers, and three petticoats. Add a full length long sleeved dress, and apron, socks, boots(pic of painful boots below as well) and add the hot stage lights and you've got some serious sweat issues! It was VERY hot, but worth every minute of it! Thanks to an amazing cast and crew for making this an amazing experience! I love you all! Little Women pics coming soon!

2009!!! Wow it's crazy! Just wanted to wish everyone a happy new year! My only new years resolution was to sleep in, and I've accomplished that. I didn't get out of bed until 12 today! hahah. W-O-W life has been CRAZY!!! Everything from Kristinas surgery to constant rehersals, and dentist appointments. Whew, it's nice to sit down for a minute. I have to go buy pants in a minute since the last pair that I have that fits got a hole in it. Losing weight can suck when you can't stop. 128ibs. Yeah, I stuffed my face recently, and gained no weight. Why? no clue. After that, I have to go buy music, and more presents for people. Then I have to go to my cousins for a sleepover. Fun stuff. Okay, I though that gaining weight was terrible because I couldn't find any clothes that fit. I lost fourty pounds, and now I'm having an even more difficult time finding clothes that fit. So now all of my shirts are huge on me, and I can't find anything that fits better. Anybody want to explain?
